Mechanical Equipment Service and Maintenance for Automotive Shops

Stephenson Equipment provides mechanical equipment service and maintenance for automotive repair shops, dealerships and fleet garages across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. From our Winnipeg and Regina locations, we inspect and service the four systems most shops depend on every day: vehicle lifts, air compressors, pressure washers, and exhaust extraction.

DV Systems Maintenance Inspection   Eurovac System Inspection  Karcher Maintenance Inspection  Robinair Maintenance Inspection

Most shops know their lifts need an annual inspection. Far fewer have a schedule for the compressor that powers every air tool in the building, the wash bay, or the system that keeps exhaust out of their technicians' lungs. Those machines rarely fail cheaply, and they almost never fail on a slow day.

Air compressor inspection and service

Natural Resources Canada estimates leaks can waste 20 to 30% of a compressor's output in a poorly maintained system. A good leak program brings that under 10%. Every leak is electricity you pay for and extra hours on a compressor that will wear out sooner.

Compressor service covers oil and filters, belts, drains, safety valves, controls and a leak check across your air lines. Your air receiver tank is a pressure vessel, which falls under provincial safety authorities in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Pressure washer inspection and repair

Pump oil, unloader valves, hoses, fittings and, on hot-water units, the burner all wear quietly. Winter adds freeze damage. A pump rebuild or burner failure takes your wash bay down exactly when customers want the salt off their vehicles.

Pressure washer maintenance includes pump and unloader checks, hose and fitting inspection, burner service on hot-water units, and freeze protection before the cold sets in.

Exhaust extraction inspection and service

Cracked hoses, worn nozzles and tired fans don't announce themselves. The system keeps running; it just stops pulling. Carbon monoxide is colourless and odourless, and the workplace exposure limit used across most of Canada is 25 ppm averaged over an eight-hour shift.

We inspect and service exhaust extraction systems, including Eurovac, checking hoses, nozzles, reels, fans, dampers and airflow at each drop.

Why schedule mechanical equipment maintenance together

The cost of an inspection is predictable. The cost of a failure isn't: downtime, emergency repairs, a stop-work order, or a technician who goes home sick. One combined service plan puts four separate risks on one schedule, timed to your season. Pressure washers and exhaust extraction get attention before winter; lifts and compressors land when your shop is slowest.

Pull the last service record for your compressor, pressure washer and exhaust extraction system. If you can't find one, or it's older than your last lift inspection, call us. We'll build a maintenance schedule around how your shop actually runs.

FAQ

How often should shop equipment be serviced?
Vehicle lifts need a qualified inspection at least once a year under ANSI/ALI ALOIM. Compressors, pressure washers and exhaust extraction should follow the manufacturer's schedule, and most shops benefit from at least one full inspection a year, more for high-use equipment.

What is included in mechanical equipment maintenance?
Inspection, cleaning, lubrication, adjustment and replacement of wear parts, plus a written report of what was found and what needs repair. For shops, that covers lifts, compressors, pressure washers and exhaust extraction.

Can you service equipment you didn't sell us?
Yes. We inspect and service lifts, compressors, pressure washers and exhaust extraction systems from most major manufacturers.

When is the best time to schedule maintenance?
Service pressure washers and exhaust extraction before winter, when freeze damage and closed bay doors raise the stakes. Book lifts and compressors in your slowest weeks.
